Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt looks set to score her first entry on the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart on Sunday with her latest single ‘Stay Out’, which is featured on her newly released fourth EP of the same name.
‘Stay Out’ follows the completely brilliant singles ‘The Apple Tree’ and the deliciously fantastic ‘Boy’ which gained Nina some heavyweight attention from the likes of Example and Ed Sheerin. The single itself is a feel good, acoustic guitar driven number that traverses an impressive journey – from rousing beginnings, euphoric full bodied choruses to a fragile ending. Nina’s soft and delicate vocal floats across the infectiously playful melody driven lyrics.
‘Statues’ is another track featured the EP and showcases an arresting and devastating insightfulness that belies her teenager years. The song is a heartbreakingly tender ode to a lover that remains stagnant and still, lyrically it is forlorn with a yearning quality. The piano driven ballad showcases her vocal range and emotional connection with her music rather beautifully.
Nina is currently preparing her debut album, ‘The People’ with Jake Gosling who has previously worked with Ed Sheerin and Paloma Faith and is set to be released later this year.
