Two of our favourite favourite bands are readying their return which, will see both acts release new material in October. Rather excitedly, let’s look at their forthcoming plans…
*Firstly, The Feeling have unveiled details of their forthcoming fourth studio album entitled ‘Boy Cried Wolf’ which is set for release on 7th October. A single ‘Rescue’ will also be released on the same day.
The eleven track opus is a self produced collection of tracks that are the creative outpourings and reflective accounts that centre upon a specific moment in time which began after which frontman Dan Gilespie-Sells wrote a song following the end of a five year relationship. From there, according to the bands website, the new album was “fuelled and informed by a powerful sense of liberation: from relationships, from their previous record label, and from themselves”.
In revealing the details of their new record, the band have made a fun, satirical video to capture the current trends of social media which appear at odds with the intention and purpose of the record. From the clips of tracks played, the sound is very much of pain, reflection and ultimately overcoming, the sound is reflective of the heartache nestled within the lyrics and subject matter.
As with the previous three efforts from The Feeling, alongside the standard edition, there will be a deluxe package which will feature an additional disc containing seven out takes which were captured during the recording process. The band are giving away a live acoustic version of album track ‘I Just Do’ as taster and is available from their website for free here.
Following the release of the record, the band head out on a UK tour. Tickets for the shows are on sale now and will see them call at the following venues on the following dates.

*Secondly, Morcheeba will release a new album titled ‘Head Up High’ on 14th October. The new thirteen track collection is their eighth studio album, the sixth record with original vocalist Sky Edwards and their second offering since since reuniting in 2010 for the magnificent album, ‘Blood Like Lemonade‘.
The lead single from the forthcoming album is ‘Gimme Your Love’, which is a groove lead track with Skye’s effortlessly stunning vocals sounding sublime when set against the heavy bombastic beats of the Godrey brothers production. The lyric video below was created by Steven Spencer and in all, ‘Gimme Your Love’ is a joyous triumph.
The album ‘Head Up High’ is available to pre-order, with signed copies available from their webstore here. Morcheeba will play an exclusive UK date at the Forum in London on Tuesday 19th November, with tickets for the show on-sale now here.
