‘Ooh La La’ was co-written by Bonnie McKee (Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera and Britney) alongside J. Kash, Lola Blanc and Fransisca Hall. Whilst production duties were handled by Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Ammo.

‘Big When I Was Little‘ is a gorgeously lush, carefree walk down memory lane, it also happens to be completely irresistible and rather impossible to stop singing once the infectious melody and sharp, well observed lyrical hooks have taken hold. The video, which premiered today is a glorious summertime vibe with inspired throwback dance freestylings and lighthearted antics and shenanigans. The clip was directed by James Copeman, who previously captured ‘Skinny Genes 2.0‘.

Completely brilliant news everybody, the divine and gloriously wonderful and beyond amazing Beverley Knight has been cast as the lead role in ‘The Bodyguard – A New Musical’, which plays at the the Adelphi Theatre on The Strand.

The show itself is a faithful retelling of the 1992 blockbusting movie The Bodyguard which starred the incomparable Whitney Houston who was a revelation in her first film role alongside Kevin Costner, with the much loved soundtrack selling in excess of 20million copies worldwide. The musical does feature other classic and timeless songs from Whitney’s illustrious back catalogue which are woven into the story, whilst the finale and encore offers a touching tribute to the great lady.

We saw the production in early December – that particular night saw a technical set issue which interrupted the performance during which time Danny DeVito, who was in the audience watching with the now late Richard Griffiths appeared on-stage with announcements and updates as to the situation… it was bizarre because it was so unexpected, Danny was of course an absolute star!

The lead role of Rachel Marron, is currently portrayed in the west-end production in London by the stunning Broadway legend Heather Headley who departs in August and will resume the lead role when the show transfers to Broadway in 2014. Beverley is by far, THE ultimate choice for the role, by far she is the greatest soul singer the UK has ever produced. In her first professional theatre role, Beverley will commence duties from 9th September and will undoubtedly be dazzling and utterly sensational. BIG giant, good luck to you Beverley!

Following the teasing sneak preview earlier this week, the full version of the new single ‘Big When I Was Little’, complete with fantastical lyric video has now been unveiled. ‘Big When I Was Little’ is all kinds of brilliant – it retains that effortlessly familiar, easy feel-good sound captured across her debut record but vamps it up so that this time the sound becomes more defined and pronounced… for instance, the beats are bolder, the horns are louder and the vocals are even more stunning and impressive.

‘Big When I Was Little’ sounds like a perfect summer day, the upbeat, carefree throwback styling evokes a rush of reminiscence that awakens and imbibes the spirit. Lyrically, it is smart and quirky with references to all things nineties such as Posh Spice, Nintendo, cassette singles and even the divine Ms. Lauryn Hill. Altogether, it is entirely playful enormously and hugely infectious – resistance is absolutely futile ESP within the refrain “like ‘Malcolm In The Middle’, that was big when I was little” which blissfully swirls around in the brain somewhat continuously.

As we mentioned the other day, ‘Big When I Was Little’ was co-written by Eliza alongside the mighty and formidable Wayne Hector and Steve Robson who amongst them have written and produced monster hits for the likes of Paloma Faith, Christina Aguilera, Honeyz, Five, Girls Aloud, Toni Braxton, Olly Murs, Def Leppard, James Morrison, Busted, Tina Turner, Lily Allen and Take That to name a very select few!

The gorgeous artwork for ‘Big When I Was Little’ appears above. The single is backed by Eliza’s stunning solo piano version of ‘You And Me’ and will be available to pre-order from 17th June ahead of its official release on 28th July.

And, this is what we know about the lead track from her forthcoming second album… the single is titled ‘Big When I Was Little’ and was co-written by Eliza alongside Wayne Hector who previously penned enormous hits for The Wanted, Olly Murs, Nicki Minaj and Girls Aloud, to name only a few. The track was produced by Steve Robson whose credentials are equally vast having worked with Paloma Faith, Christina Aguilera and Leona Lewis amongst many others.

India.Arie – ‘Cocoa Butter’

The wondrously amazing and elegantly graceful India.Arie is back with a new single titled ‘Cocoa Butter‘ which is the first release for her forthcoming fifth studio album ‘Songversation’ which is available from 25th June.

Lyrically, the songs speaks of getting over a former love and embracing a new romance which has positive healings, just like the cocoa butter itself. The video for the song is a similarly positive, sensual and luxurious affair too…

Diana Vickers – ‘Cinderella’

‘Cinderella‘ is one mighty return and Ms Vickers makes a splash in the video for the lead track to be lifted from her forthcoming sophomore album ‘Music To Make Boys Cry’.

The video is a lavish affair in which Diana attends a modern day masked ball only to flirt outrageously with a rather handsome chap before it all gets a bit steamy at the end too… ooo’er! ‘Cinderella’ is released on 21st July.

Katy B – ‘What Love Is Made Of’

Katy has debuted the video for the first single from her forthcoming second studio album, ‘What Love Is Made Of‘ and it’s a gloriously upbeat and infectious track which now has an equally brilliant video to match. It’s a darkly gritty, fast and furious mix of street racing and street dancing – it’s all very modern isn’t it! The track itself is due for release on 7th July.

The track is an amazingly ace, spectacular mid-tempo anthemic number which sits alongside previous gems like the magnificent ‘See You’ again and infectious grooves of ‘Party In The USA’. It was produced by man of the moment Mike WILL Made It (Kelly Rowland, Ciara) and is the first release to be from her forthcoming fourth studio album. The single is available to download in the UK on August 18th – uggh!

The event was broadcast on TV last night and there has been plenty of media coverage within the press today so you may already know what happened but here’s what went down from our perspective…

*The show was opened by Jessie J who was an unexpected addition to the participants.

*The show was officially opened by founding charity member and organiser of the event, actress Salma Hayek. Other actors and actresses appeared throughout the show to talk about the need for change – the likes of James Franco, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Ryan Reyonlds all showed support for the event.

*Iggy Azalea turned up to knock out a couple of numbers as did Rita Ora and Laura Pausini.

*All hail the QUEEN – Madonna arrived onstage in-between musical performances to share her thoughts on the event. In true Madonna fashion she gave an impassioned and heartfelt plea, she reprimanded and demanded the audience listen at one point, but she continued with a generous donation by offering to match funds raised to help build a school – the public to build the first floor, whilst she will pay for the rest to be built!

*Florence + The Machine needs a lesson in giving the audience what they want as she delivered a performance of ‘Over The Love‘ which is her contribution to the soundtrack to the film The Great Gatsby, whilst it’s a great song, it was lost on much of the audience who really would’ve preferred to hear the hits but when did did get her hits out, the reaction was electric! Take note Florence!

*Jennifer ’JLo’ Lopez proved she is a great giving them what they want. She delivered a high octane set which featured plenty of over the top dancing and theatrics. She did a hits medley too which was completely brilliant and was joined on-stage by Mary J. Blige as the pair duetted on the Beatles classic ‘Come Together’.

*Haim did a good job on the extended drum outro of their final number. Whilst, John Legend was met with an enormously affectionate welcome. Ellie Goulding was there! As was Timbaland who gave the most bizarre and completely pointless performance of the night – sorry Tim!

*Headliner, Beyoncé delivered an energetic and high quality performance – it featured some special moments… 

*Jay-Z joined her onstage for ‘Crazy In Love’, Jay-Z looked like he’s lost weight and he gave her a kiss as he left the stage, Beyoncé tried hard to stifle a beaming smile as he did but naturally failed -CUTE!

*She performed ‘Grown Women’, which received its first live performance in the UK.
